What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect your name and email address when you sign-up for our eNews publication. The contact form submissions are kept for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted for marketing purposes.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one day.
Embedded content from other websites
By default, WordPress does not collect any analytics data.
Who we share your data with
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What right you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
European data protection law requires data about European residents which is transferred outside the European Union to be safeguarded to the same standards as if the data was in Europe. These standards are met by our Privacy Shield.

We will confirm receipt of your request and provide a response to you within 45 days of your request, though in some exceptional cases it could take up to 60 days. (If that happens, we’ll let you know.) Please note that these rights are limited (e.g. where fulfilling your request would adversely affect other individuals or where we have a conflicting legal obligation).

How we protect your data
We take security seriously, and the security of your personal data is important to us. We follow industry-standard practices to protect the data we collect and maintain, including using Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt information as it travels over the internet. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so The Chimaera Project cannot guarantee its absolute security. Our website firewall protects us from DDoS attacks (malicious attempt to disrupt normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network), exploits, aggressive bots and Brute force attempts. Transactions on the site are protected with up to 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer encryption.
